Although several megayacht owners have more than one yacht, rarely do they take delivery of two at once. A client of TWW Yachts had double the pleasure thanks to the handover of the yacht After You and the yacht Emotional from Damen Yachting.
The yacht After You is the first Xplorer 60 from the shipyard. “Xplorer” and the strong, chiseled profile convey exploration is at her core. She has the engineering to back this up, particularly a hull meeting the IMO’s Polar Code requirements for navigating in ice. Additionally, she has stowage and tank capacities to keep her independent from shore for 30 days. Best range should be 5,000 nautical miles, plenty to cross the Atlantic and keep on going for some time.

Even with the hard-charging looks, the yacht After You, begun on spec, is still a luxury cruiser. This 197-footer (60-meter) has accommodations for 12 in the owner’s party, for instance. She further has fully enclosed and alfresco lounge areas for enjoying the sights of the Mediterranean and other typical cruising areas. A volume of 1,160 gross tons should ensure the lounges, staterooms, and entertainment areas are comfortable. Finally, a certified helipad makes owner and guest arrivals and departures while After You is at anchor more convenient.

Emotional, meanwhile, is hull number three in the Yacht Support 53 series, a superyacht toy box and a logistical shadow vessel. This 175-footer (53-meter) started on spec as well. The utilitarian looks and engineering for taking on challenging seas are borrowed from Damen’s commercial vessel division. In fact, they come directly from its Axe Bow project. Briefly, the design incorporates a knife-like bow and a hull for consistent speed and fuel efficiency, regardless of the conditions. The bow keeps spray down off the deck, too. Since volume is 499 gross tons, some owners commission the Yacht Support 53 as a stand-alone cruiser. However, the owner of the yacht Emotional wants her to carry extra crewmembers, provide further helicopter facilities, and provide logistical assistance to the yacht After You.
“This double delivery is a landmark moment for Damen Yachting,” notes Enrique Tintore, the product and design manager for Damen Yachting’s Xplorer and Yacht Support ranges. Jorrit Pilaar, the shipyard’s sales manager, agrees, adding, “It was an absolute pleasure working with the team of TWW Yachts over the last months to get the first Xplorer 60 and the 53-meter Yacht Support ready for delivery.”
Ultimately, the upcoming itineraries for the duo remain confidential. But, David Westwood, TWW Yachts’ CEO, hints at some of what is in store. In recognizing the successful collaboration with Damen Yachting, he says, “The result is an exceptional explorer yacht paired with a powerful support vessel, together creating a unique platform for discovery and adventure at sea.”
Both After You and Emotional will be at next month’s Monaco Yacht Show.
