Inside a $10.9 Million Bahamas Home With a Bold, Colorful Design

This recently listed Bahamas retreat certainly isn’t for minimalist buyers.

Dubbed Cotton House, the four-bedroom, four-bath estate in the celeb-beloved Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club is a bold, colorful residence that really packs a punch. Offered fully furnished, the home is swathed in patterned wallpaper and jewel-tone hues courtesy of interior designer Andrew Howard. The sellers are a family based in Charleston, South Carolina, who have strong ties to the music industry.

The center of the 2,700-square-foot space is the vaulted great room, where pocket doors disappear into the Robert Shelton hand-painted, palm-print wallpaper. A living area with comfy seating is paired with a small dining room, where yellow-and-green chairs surround the wooden dining table. The turquoise chef’s kitchen is decked out with Miele appliances and custom built-ins, and there’s extended island seating for more casual meals. Throughout, you’ll find textiles from Pierre Frey and Zak+Fox, furniture from Southerland and BDDW, and lighting from Jamb London and Urban Electric.

All four bedrooms are laid out as suites with their own bathroom. The primary bedroom is a richly colored room with green curtains framing access to the outdoors. The accompanying bathroom sports a double vanity and a tucked-away soaking tub. An additional single bedroom is a more neutral-toned affair, while the other two sleeping quarters are configured as a twin bedroom and a bunk room, respectively.

Outside, sizable patios line both the front and back of the property, with plenty of seating for outdoor dining or simple lounging. There’s a fire pit for chilly evenings and a saltwater pool and hot tub for splashing around. The Baker’s Bay community also includes access to 6.5 miles of white-sand beaches, for additional swimming, snorkeling, and other water-based activities. Plus, Cotton House is perched along Hole 10 of the Tom Fazio–designed golf course, and comes with more than 100 feet of course frontage.

The Bahamas property is listed for $10.9 million with Craig Klinger at the Discovery Land Company. Along with the listing price, the buyers are responsible for additional fees including those for an attorney and the $250,000 club membership initiation. These extra costs bring the total initial price to almost $11.8 million.
