A series from Mengi Yay Yachts and Nuvolari Lenard offering shorter delivery times while preserving owners’ wishes to personalize ample areas has attracted its first client The Mengi Yay NL 52 Plus yacht owner should be enjoy the maiden voyage, with family and friends, next year.
Previously presented as the Mengi Yay NL 50 Plus, this megayacht measures 172 feet (52.6 meters). Construction actually started on spec in late 2024, with the hull turning occurring in January 2025. Building on spec naturally saves time for a customer, locking in an engineering package that takes into account what most cruisers want to do. With outfitting beginning well after the hull turning, buyers can customize the number of staterooms and put their personality on the rest of the interior.

Of course, it helps to have a suggested interior arrangement and some possible décor ideas ready. Nuvolari Lenard leveraged its three decades of experience to recommend a five-stateroom layout that appeals to current tastes. Simultaneously, due to the studio’s belief in reducing environmental impact, the décor materials include certified sustainable solutions. Soothing tones and subdued sophistication will surround the full owner’s party of 10.
Since time outdoors is a big priority for the owner and guests, the Mengi Yay NL 52 Plus yacht shows off a main aft deck cascading down terrace-like steps to a swim platform. Featuring generous seating and sunning spaces, the entire area is the alfresco beach club. It’s further complete with fold-down side platforms and a pool. Nuvolari Lenard is custom-designing the pool, too, based on feedback from the owner.
Although some owners want a helipad on the foredeck, the owner of the first Mengi Yay NL 52 Plus yacht prefers movies under moonlight. A retractable screen makes it possible. Additionally, whether during daytime or nighttime, the superyacht’s sundeck is sure to please. According to the shipyard, it will be among the biggest in this size range. All-around views at anchor or underway will make for Instagrammable moments. Sunning, dining, and entertaining are all possible as well.
Mengi Yay intends to start a second hull soon, also for an owner to acquire. Both the one under contract and the upcoming spec build will feature RINA classification. “The contributions of Dan Lenard and Carlo Nuvolari have always brought forward-thinking ideas and a strong design vision to our projects,” says Hüseyin Mengi, Mengi Yay’s CEO. “We are pleased by the growing number of projects realised together with the studio. This continuity will enable us to move more swiftly on future yachts and to bring more innovative solutions to the market.”
