At 174 feet (53 meters) in length, the yacht Heed has unmistakable metallic-grey paint from stem to stern. It not only catches the light, but also highlights her sculpted form. What really sets her apart, however, is how her owner intends to live aboard.
Having just launched at Rossinavi’s shipyard in Pisa, Italy, the megayacht has several of the most in-demand features. Namely, she has a beach area with a pool, plus fold-down platforms to each side. They expand the already-healthy 30 feet (9 meters) of usable space across the beam, essentially breaking down barriers to the surrounding anchorage. The yacht Heed also has a traditional saloon on the main deck, with full-height windows similarly eliminating barriers. Formal dining takes place nearby, too, with a fold-down balcony to one side.

Being a fully custom project, though, the yacht Heed entirely reflects her owner’s ideas and ideals. Private time was important, for example, so the master suite is more than just a room. In fact, it’s an entire deck. More to the point, it’s the entire upper deck. In collaboration with the designer Alberto Mancini, the owner has a quieter retreat from the rest of the activity aboard. It still allows engaging with the surroundings while at sea, with dedicated alfresco area, including a pool, forward of the sleeping space. (The pool, by the way, has contra-flow jets for more vigorous swims.) “Working within the 499 GT threshold allowed us to rethink proportion and space with greater freedom,” Mancini notes.
Further elevated—literally and figuratively—ways of living aboard benefit both the owner and guests. What you might assume is simply a hardtop is actually an observation deck. Here, the best views of all are possible day and night. Seating also invites guests to purely take it easy.

With interiors by Achille Salvagni Architetti, the yacht Heed should provide a quiet experience for those who stay aboard. Rossinavi has equipped her with a battery system to handle hotel loads while at anchor.
“It has been an extremely stimulating project,” Federico Rossi, Rossinavi’s COO, says. “It is a yacht designed to be lived on,” he concludes, in large part thanks to the owner’s “energetic” involvement all along.
