This Mangusta Oceano 52 Yacht Has a Surprising Layout

The owners of the third Mangusta Oceano 52 yacht are breaking with convention. They’re planning to cruise with more guests than other buyers of the series. Additionally, the way they plan to accommodate their guests is a change from the norm.

Although the series is in the Mangusta Oceano family, the yard’s engineering team and designer Alberto Mancini created it to stand apart. For instance, the generally recommended layout has an aerie-like master suite, on the upper deck. It additionally has private access to an alfresco lounge with an infinity pool and sunpads split over two levels. The location of the suite and the outdoor access are both more common on yachts much larger than this 168-footer (51-meter).

The buyers of hull number three still intend to enjoy this arrangement on the upper deck. However, they have different ideas for the lower deck. Similarly, their ideas are a departure from what nearly all owners with boats in this size range do. Just three staterooms, comprised of a full-beam VIP and two double cabins, are present. Despite Mangusta inviting customers to bring their ideas to the table for the overall general arrangement, few opt to do so to this degree. In fact, even aboard deliveries where a media room or gym is in the guest area below, it’s usually a convertible space.

Interestingly, the philosophy behind this Mangusta Oceano 52 yacht suits the overall guest experience. Mangusta and Mancini suggest two VIPs on the main deck, sitting where the owners’ area traditionally is. This is one of the hallmarks of the series, too.

The flexibility in the configuration is just one reason why the buyers, from Europe, signed the contract. “Their first experience with a smaller yacht from our range persuaded them to remain part of the Mangusta family,” says Ivan Adzic, a Mangusta sales manager. The model’s styling attracted them as well. It provides owners and guests with significantly fewer perceived barriers to indoor-outdoor living. To that end, glass bulkheads and bulwarks, frameless handrails, and full-height, opening glass walls abound.  Mancini, Mangusta’s long-time design partner, likens the effect to “a Miami penthouse.”

The owners should take delivery towards the end of 2028 and intend to enjoy trips in the Med.
