Extra X145 Global Yacht Encourages Setting Your Sights on Farther Shores

A range of 4,000 nautical miles puts a lot of places within reach. It’s plenty to voyage from San Diego to Southeast Alaska, for example, or from the Panama Canal to the Marquesas. Extra Yachts launched its Global series to allow customers to do that, and more. The Extra X145 Global yacht is the flagship, further offering a layout simply not seen in this size range.

With an LOA of 144 feet (44 meters), the megayacht bears stylistic elements conveying her globetrotting purpose. The design studio Agon penned a high vertical bow, for instance, and an abundance of chiseled lines. The styling spreads across five decks as well, which is the first hint that the Extra X145 Global yacht is different. Even her hull material, steel, is a rarity for this size range.

The space allocation inside the Extra X145 Global yacht complements the idea of encouraging owners and guests to venture farther, longer. All five guest staterooms sit on the main deck, spanning the full 30-foot (9-meter) beam. Many yacht builders and designers talk about creating a stronger emotional connection to the sea with their projects, and there’s not much better than waking up in a prime place onboard. Owners still get prime positioning, too, on the bridge deck. The master suite has a private alfresco area, again for better enjoying the world’s scenery.

Yet another twist on the space arrangement, the uppermost deck contains a lounge. Wrapped in glass, it offers 360-degree views from both a seating area and a dining area. The Hot Lab design studio separates the two with a staircase that appears to float and is as much a decorative element as it is a functional one.

Finally, the Extra X145 Global yacht wraps up the surprises by devoting nearly all of the lower deck to the crew. Four double cabins, each with en suite baths, accompany the crew mess, the main galley, and a laundry area. Owners can opt for a gym down here as well.

OF course, the project still incorporates the most in-demand superyacht features. Fold-down platforms at the waterline open up the beach club. Conveniently, it contains its own head with shower and a dressing area. Since cruising and exploring involves doing so by tender as much as the main yacht, a boat up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) can fit in the tender garage. The garage can further accommodate two PWCs and several other toys.

Owners can tailor the interior design to their liking. Hot Lab suggests soft shapes, an emphasis on natural light, and an overall contemporary palate and look.
