Making the journey from Romania, the fifth hull in the Amels 80 yacht series arrived at Damen Yachting’s Dutch shipyard within the past few days. She’s the first of what will be multiple megayachts to start outfitting throughout the new year.
The series is part of the Amels Limited Editions range, in which owners have great latitude to tailor the semi-custom designs. The owner of the first Amels 80 hull, a.k.a. Amels 8001, which launched in April 2025, took advantage in a few ways. Among other things, the owner wanted a striking, deep-grey paint scheme for the superstructure, ensuring she’d stand out on the water. She also has a hammam. Her owner christened her with the name Pangea.

Since the Amels 80 yacht hull number five is a spec project, she’s available for buyers to customize accordingly. Generally speaking, the 262-footer (80-meter) can accommodate up to 14 passengers in seven staterooms. Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, which Damen Yachting turned to for the interior looks, includes a private owners’ deck above the main deck. Another possibility is two adjacent VIP suites that can convert to a sleeping area with a private lounge, spanning the full beam. Maximum beam is 41 feet (12.5 meters).
Of course, many owners are just as interested in having ample alfresco space. The fifth Amels 80 yacht series provides families and friends with some of the most space they’ll find in this size range. In fact, Damen Yachting says the sundeck is much bigger than that of similar-size superyachts. It spans 2,153 square feet (200 square meters). That allows for a dining area to enjoy lunches and other meals, for instance, along with more than enough area for sunpads and loose seating. Yet another high priority these days is a pool. The yacht has a 21-foot-long (6.5-meter-long) swimming pool on the main deck. Finally, the beach club, which opens on three sides, is a welcoming chill-out zone at the water’s edge.

Between the yacht’s volume of 2,175 gross tons and her long-range cruising capabilities, she holds a lot of promise for those seeking to see the world comfortably. Delivery can take place next year, with operations handled by a captain and 20-person crew.
