Azimut-Benetti Service Division Inaugurates for Customers


In the not-too-distant past, service and refit shipyards, not the builders of the yachts themselves, handled maintenance and technical assistance. Benetti Yachts is the latest to offer superyacht owners and their teams direct support. The Azimut-Benetti Service Division strives to simplify the ownership experience and eliminate headaches.

As part of this new division, clients can opt into management services, under which the shipyard staff create individualized maintenance plans. Extended warranties and, especially important, global assistance are both included as part of the management services as well, at different price points. Further for the benefit of owners but also their captains and crew, a “smart” system onboard the megayachts monitors and controls key components to ensure the yachts’ lifespan and performance remain optimal.

Furthermore, a new Benetti Service Net is part of the Azimut-Benetti Service Division’s offerings. In fact, captains and project managers received the introduction to it last week at Benetti’s Livorno shipyard. Briefly, it’s a service and support network, with assistance through 16 support agents around the world. Naturally, Benetti’s own service and refit shipyard, Lusben, is within the network. In the United States, meanwhile, clients should contact the Benetti Americas office. The office maintains a list of trusted boatyards and contractors. Regardless of which region a client is in, the Benetti Service Net referrals have been vetted. They undergo training at Benetti during a yacht’s build and regular re-certification by the shipyard.

The Azimut-Benetti Service Division joins longtime divisions that equally augment the ownership experience. For instance, the Group provides turnkey services through Yachtique, its interior-design department. Yachtique supplies everything from cutlery to accessories. Additionally, Benetti’s Crew Academy provides hands-on education to captains and crew about the operations and upkeep of various onboard systems. “The Service Division is the natural evolution of our approach to services, designed to support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their yacht,” explains Massimiliano Casoni, Benetti general manager. Ultimately, “protecting the asset, preserving its value over time, and guaranteeing real peace of mind” are the intentions.
