Hyatt’s Andaz Brand Expands in Shanghai

Located in the heart of Shanghai’s heritage district, this new luxury hotel offers fabulous views across the metropolis. Open to guests from February 3, 2026, Andaz Shanghai ITC is designed to appeal to discerning travellers who appreciate quality and style. Designers drew on the theme of nostalgia, referencing numerous Shanghai sights, tastes, sounds and smells.

Nostalgia-Inspired Design

Andaz Shanghai ITC is located in ITC Xujiahui complex, a pioneering project in the heart of a vibrant commercial area. The overall concept of Andaz Shanghai ITC is “bringing outside in”. The Xujiahui district has a storied past and was at the forefront of development when Shanghai opened up to the outside world.

Motifs of the city’s past, and present, can be found in the rooms, the destination restaurants, the rooftop bar and the open, neighborhood style corridors. A glass-brick feature wall and moss-hued rugs are inspired by Shanghai’s laneways, where European-style low rise buildings date back more than a century.

Rooms and Suites

The hotel’s 267 rooms and suites all offer floor-to-ceiling views over one of the most vibrant parts of Shanghai. The interiors are stylish and spacious, with subtle design references to the city’s rich cultural tapestry. There is a wide variety of accommodation options, many offering outdoor terraces.

The rooms range in size from 485 square feet to the 1,580-square-foot Executive Suite. The flagship suite has all the signature Andaz avant-garde design features, custom made by skilled Shanghai craftsmen.

The overall room-design concept takes a residential-style approach. Individual room doors are purposely varied to emphasize the residential ambience, while the interiors are modeled on the maisonette accommodation model; free-standing wardrobes guide visitors towards the bathroom.

Each bedroom is furnished with comfortable home décor. Additionally, a seating zone accommodates lounging, dining or working.

The gym design also follows the overarching theme of the Andaz Shanghai ITC leisure facilities. Each-and-every work-out routine takes place in a special environment rather than a utilitarian fitness center.

Dining and Drinks

The three culinary options at Andaz Shanghai ITC ensure that the hotel will become a destination-dining spot in a cosmopolitan city.

The Rooftop Bar is where the city’s movers and shakers, decision-makers and influencers can be found. The West Wing is a European and Shanghainese deli and wine bar offering small-plate dining experiences.

The East Wing is an airy dining enclave that offers a range of options for breakfast, lunch and, in the evening, classic Shanghainese dishes prepared with local ingredients. The high ceilings, canopy-style lighting and decor contribute to the air of refined sophistication. Discreet private dining rooms and a plant-filled outdoor terrace are also options for East Wing diners.
