Inside an $85 Million SoCal Compound With Two Pickleball Courts

An extravagant triple-lot compound has just popped up for sale in Southern California’s desert resort city of La Quinta, within the guard-gated Madison Club community favored by titans of industry and Hollywood celebrities alike.

The owners are prolific developer Asher Gala and his real estate agent wife, Ginger Glass, who is co-listing the property with Alexandra Glass, both of Compass, for $85 million. The couple bought the land in 2018 and then built the Ross Avenue home as a personal family retreat rather than an investment, according to The Wall Street Journal. Completed in 2020 and set on a nearly 2.5-acre parcel overlooking a Tom Fazio-designed golf course, the residence has a total of 10 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms across roughly 35,300 square feet between the main home and guesthouse.

Marketing materials call the property a “world unto itself,” and that’s not an exaggeration. There are both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts for Asher, an avid enthusiast of the sport, along with ample garage space for his collection of 1960s and 1970s American muscle cars. A private entertainment space dubbed “Da Club” is decked out with a bar, a DJ booth, and a golf simulator, while two primary suites each clock in at a whopping 5,000 square feet. The place has even doubled as a wedding venue, having hosted the nuptials for the daughter of Mets owner Steven Cohen last year.

Topping it all off are five full kitchens, an indoor/outdoor gym, four glass-pebble pools, 32 fire features (including 19 masonry fireplaces), plus a sound system and no less than 40 televisions.

Developed in the late 2000s, the Madison Club has become a top desert vacation spot for all manner of celebrities—entertainers like the Kardashians, Adele, and Justin Bieber; high-profile business moguls from Apple CEO Tim Cook to Nike’s Phil Knight; and big-name music bosses such as Irving Azoff and Scooter Braun.

Madison Club members enjoy a lengthy roster of perks, including a private clubhouse with fine-dining options, gym and spa facilities, and two guard-gated entrances. Of course, all that luxury doesn’t come cheap: The HOA dues for this property alone are $6,300 per quarter, with the club’s membership initiation fee hovering around $500,000.

Per WSJ, the couple have decided to sell because they are building another home for themselves at the Madison Club. Asher has built and flipped many properties within the affluent community, including a mansion he sold to Chicago-based billionaire businessman Richard Chaifetz in 2023 for $31.8 million, a lower Coachella Valley record. He’s also created some of the most extravagant new mansions in Los Angeles, among them Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s former marital home they purchased in 2023 for $60 million, and that’s currently up for sale with a $52 million price tag.
