Pelorus Yachting Announces New Charter: Galapagos Explorer

Pelorus Yachting, experiential specialists in adventure yacht charters, has welcomed the arrival of the 125-foot Galapagos Explorer to its charter fleet. It is one of the few yachts in the region that offers a true superyacht experience, while being permanently based in the Galápagos, thereby offering consistent access to one of the world’s most protected and wildlife-rich regions. Joining Pelorus Yachting following time out of the water for an extensive refit in 2024, it is available to charter for up to 12 guests.

Galapagos Explorer is one of the most intimate and exclusive yachts in the region, perfect for family charters, offering an elevated guest-to-staff ratio with 12 dedicated crew members on hand. The yacht has multiple intimate spaces for socializing and coming together, from indoor and outdoor dining options, to light, airy lounge areas such as the uppermost, al fresco sundeck with a hot tub. At night on deck, travelers can take part in storytelling under the stars, hearing of Darwin’s evolutionary theories, or an astronomy session, deepening that sense of connection with the region’s scientific legacy.

Galapagos Explorer also has six air-conditioned en-suite cabins spread across three decks (including an upper deck master suite), and panoramic windows that fill the guest areas with natural light, and provide breathtaking views. From tailored dining to bespoke water and land-based experiences, the team continuously offers personalized service and attention to detail.

On land, guided by two certified naturalists, guests will experience up-close encounters with iconic species such as the giant Galapagos tortoise, blue-footed boobies or marine iguanas basking in the sun on the volcanic rocks. They can also snorkel in the surrounding waters, teeming with sea lions and penguins, or dive the crystal-clear waters near Gordon Rocks and Pinnacle Rock, encountering hammerhead sharks and manta rays.

Galapagos Explorer also offers the chance to kayak, paddleboard or Zodiac along the dramatic coastline to the Charles Darwin Research Station to uncover the history of evolution, take part in a reforestation project and join celebrations as they cross the Equator. Charter price from $155,500 per week for up to 12 guests. (Inclusive of three meals daily, beverages, house wines & spirits, transfers to and from Baltra Airport, and daily excursions and activities: panga boat rides, hikes, island visits, beach walks, visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station, sea kayaking, and snorkeling & gear.)
