Revealing a suitably named dolphin blue hull color, the second Amels 80 yacht celebrated her launch this month. She’s the yacht Netto II, set to start cruising later this year with some creative lifestyle amenities like a casino-meets-cocktail-lounge.
According to Damen Yachting, the owner signed the contract just a few months after it revealed the series. At 262 feet (80 meters), the Amels 80 offers significant space for family and friends, along with a sizable crew. In fact, the yacht Netto II exceeds the 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio so often welcomed, with 20 hands among the captain and crew and 14 in the owner’s party. A set technical platform means construction and delivery can follow a swifter pace than a fully custom yacht. Of course, the owner still has had the opportunity to tailor the looks and layout of each deck.
Similar to the first Amels 80, which the owner christened Pangea, this owner chose to collaborate with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design for interiors. Although the design and construction teams are keeping most of the details confidential, they can disclose specifics about one particular area. The superyacht has a lounge much like a speakeasy. Additionally, and likely to entice guests to linger for longer, the ambience is a 1960s-era casino.
Further areas aboard the yacht Netto II that will net a lot of interest include the beach club. In keeping with the original concept from Damen Yachting and Espen Øino International, it opens on three sides. Since wellness is an integral part of so many owners’ and guests’ experiences, it comes as no surprise that the beach club includes a hammam and a sauna. It includes a gym, too, and a skylight that’s actually the bottom of the main-deck pool. That pool is 21 feet (6.5 meters) long. Even longer, the sundeck is a 2,153-square-foot (200-square-meter) social space.
Delivery should occur in time for the owner to spend the summer cruising in the Mediterranean. In related news, series hull number 5 recently arrived at the Vlissingen facilities.
